Safe At Home

RTP provides smaller-sized critical repair projects on a year-round basis for vulnerable homeowners. Safe at Home (SAH) helps seniors, families, and people with disabilities live more independently by addressing minor repairs before they grow into more costly repair issues.

Through our Safe at Home Repair Program, and with the support of staff, AmeriCorps members, and a handful of skilled volunteers, RTP serves approximately 130 low-income homeowners each year. Projects include:

  • Debris removal
  • Fence repair
  • Basic home maintenance
  • Exterior painting
  • Light yard work
  • Minor plumbing and electrical work
  • Heating repair
  • Window repair and replacement
  • Door repair and replacement
  • Energy efficiency measures
  • Some accessibility modifications.
